About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, FAA-certified Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic with proven supervisory experience to lead our maintenance team. In this role, you will oversee the daily activities of the shop floor, ensure all work meets FAA airworthiness standards, and mentor a team of technicians while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for a seasoned professional ready to take ownership of maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the daily activities of A&P mechanics and support staff to meet maintenance timelines and turnaround goals.
Perform and oversee inspections, repairs, modifications, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on airframes, engines, and related systems in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications.
Review and approve maintenance documentation, work orders, and logbook entries for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with FAA regulations (FAR Part 43, 91, and/or 145 as applicable), company policies, and OEM standards.
Mentor, train, and evaluate technicians, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and avionics issues and provide technical guidance to the team.
Manage parts inventory, tooling, and shop resources to support efficient operations.
Coordinate with management, vendors, and customers to communicate status updates and resolve maintenance issues.
Enforce safety protocols, conduct safety briefings, and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
Required Qualifications
Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
Minimum of 5 years of A&P maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, and maintenance documentation requirements.
Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a team of technicians.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent (technical or aviation degree preferred).
